CHE University Ranking: University of Mannheim Offers Excellent Conditions for Studying

Economics at the University of Mannheim achieves best results nationwide / Business Administration and Law receive top rankings / Business Informatics ranks in the leading group in most categories

The University of Mannheim has, once again, been ranked highly in the latest university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (CHE). With its programs in Business Administration and Law, the university is ranked one of the top institutions and with its programs in Economics, the university is one of the higher education institutions with the most top scores nationwide. The programs in Business Informatics rank above or significantly above average in almost all categories. This confirms once again the excellent quality of education at the University of Mannheim. The full ranking will be published today in the print edition of the ZEIT Studienführer 2023/2024 and on the HeyStudium website. In recent years, the University of Mannheim has regularly achieved top positions in the CHE ranking, also for its programs in Humanities and Social Sciences.

Economics
When it comes to Economics, the University of Mannheim is one of the higher education institutions with the most top scores nationwide. It is ranked among the top entries in 17 of the 20 categories and performed extremely well in the categories “student affairs and teaching” as well as “equipment”. The programs in Economics are successful in the categories “general study conditions”, “study organization”, “examination organization”, “support for students” and “library”.

Business Administration
Business Administration at the University of Mannheim is ranked among the top entries in 18 of the 20 categories. Students evaluate the general study conditions with 4.5 of 5 stars – the best result a public higher education institution achieved. The Business School is highly successful in the categories “research reputation”, “support in studying abroad” and “support for students”.

Law
The Department of Law did especially well with regard to the category “student affairs and teaching” and achieved top scores in 19 of the 20 categories. The department achieved top results in the categories “support for first-year students”, “supervision by teachers”, “study organization”, and “exam preparation”. According to the ranking, the University of Mannheim and another university are the best universities in the category “general study conditions”.

Business Informatics
The programs in Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim are ranked among the top entries in 17 of 20 categories. It scored very high in the categories “general study conditions”, “graduation in due time”, “study organization”, and “services to support the transition to professional life”.

The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed university ranking in German-speaking countries. Since 1998, over 140 universities and more than 250 universities of applied sciences and public universities of cooperative education (Berufsakademien) have been examined as part of the university ranking. About 120,000 students as well as 3,000 professors contributed to the current ranking. In addition to looking at facts relating to programs of study, teaching, equipment, and research, the ranking also takes student opinions on the study conditions at their institution into account. This year was the first year in which students also evaluated digital teaching. Each year, a third of the subjects are newly examined. In 2023, the subjects were Business Administration, Law, Social Work, Economics, Business Informatics, Business Engineering, Business Psychology, Business Law and Economics and Business Administration.
