Once again, the University of Mannheim has been ranked highly in the student survey of the latest university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE)). In the subjects analyzed, Political Science and Sociology, the University of Mannheim is better than the average of all higher education institutions in all categories evaluated. In Political Science, the University of Mannheim is in the top group in 13 out of 14 categories and in Sociology, the university is in the top group in 12 out of 14 categories. The evaluation of the study organization is particularly positive.

In both subjects, the offers for career orientation, support during studies, support for stays abroad and the rooms are evaluated particularly well compared to the average of all higher education institutions. Students of Political Science rated the introduction to academic writing and research and the library very highly. Students of Sociology were very happy with the digital teaching elements.

The first-year students in both subjects feel well-supported. Both subjects are also in the top group in the category “support at the beginning of studies”.

The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed university ranking in German-speaking countries. Since 1998, over 140 universities and more than 250 universities of applied sciences and public universities of cooperative education (Berufsakademien) have been examined as part of the university ranking. About 120,000 students contributed to the current ranking.

In recent years, the University of Mannheim has also regularly achieved top positions in the CHE ranking for its programs in Business Administration, Economics, Law, and Business Informatics.

The outcome is published online at www.heystudium.de/ranking and in the print edition of the ZEIT-Studienführers, which will be published on 4 May 2024.
