At the second Local Green Deal networking event in Mannheim, the University of Mannheim was recognized for its internal incentive program aimed at reducing air travel-related CO₂ emissions. The student organization INFINITY was also honored for its commitment to sustainability.

From 19 to 22 October 2026, the Department of Equal Opportunity and Diversity and the Mannheim University Library invite the university community to discuss diversity, participation, and equal opportunity at the University of Mannheim—both online and on campus.

From 28 September to 15 October, the university is hosting an anniversary exhibition by performance artist HA Schult, entitled “Trash People – 30 Years Around the World”, in the east wing of the Schloss. An accompanying program, featuring the artist himself, rounds off the exhibition.

The University of Mannheim officially opened its new fitness center in the city center on 31 August with a ceremony. Around 70 guests celebrated the launch, and through 20 September, training at T1 FitnessGym is free of charge.
