Under the theme “Mannheim: People. Courage. Ideas.”, the New Year’s reception on 6 January 2026 will showcase people, initiatives, ideas, and projects that represent the innovative thinking and actions of the city’s society, with the University of Mannheim also being represented.

6 January is traditionally “New Year's Reception Day” in Mannheim. The reception is organized by numerous Mannheim clubs, associations, organizations, universities, and municipal institutions.
