ENGAGE.EU applies for follow-up proposal

The application for further funding of ENGAGE.EU until 2027 has been submitted.

A big piece of work is done: On 31 January, we submitted the application for the follow-up proposal until 2027 to the European Commission on time. The preparations for this have taken a lot of time over the last few weeks. Professor Thomas Fetzer, coordinator of ENGAGE.EU, emphasises: “This would not have been possible without the continuous commitment and comprehensive support of our ENGAGE.EU colleagues in Mannheim. I am very grateful for this.” As part of the application process, we critically evaluated and restructured our European University Alliance and set the course for the continuation of ENGAGE.EU. Now it is time to take the next steps in the coming months and prepare everything for another funding round.

Already during the last ENGAGE.EU annual conference in Tilburg, the main focus was on the new application and the question of how we can proceed with ENGAGE.EU in the best possible way. The results served as the basis for a reorientation with which we would like to establish our European University even more strongly, expand the internal and external exchange and make the structures even more efficient.

ENGAGE.EU core activities

We will stay true to our mission and continue to pursue strong interdisciplinary collaboration in economics and social sciences with business, politics, society and academia through our key tasks Engaged Learning, Engaged Research & Innovation and Engaged in Society.

We will continue and further expand our existing activities in the future. Particular emphasis will be placed on the Joint Programmes at Master's level, the establishment of Research Communities and Work-Integrated Learning Programmes, as well as the ENGAGE.EU Labs for co-creation teams. One of the biggest innovations is the stronger integration of doctoral students through an ENGAGE.EU PhD programme.

“I am very much looking forward to shaping the future of ENGAGE.EU together with all colleagues here in Mannheim and at our partner universities,” says Fetzer optimistically.

The official response to the new application is expected on 30.06.2023.
