Prof. Kathrine von Graevenitz, Ph.D., has been elected to the German Data Forum

Effective 1 July 2026, Prof. Kathrine von Graevenitz, Ph.D., will serve on the German Data Forum (RatSWD).

In her new role, the Professor of Empirical Environmental Economics and Deputy Head of ZEW’s Research Unit “Environmental and Climate Economics” will advise the federal government and state governments on research data infrastructure.

“Access to high-quality data is the foundation for evidence-based policy advice. I look forward to continuing the important work at the RatSWD so that researchers will have better access to relevant data in the future, enabling them to answer economically and socially important questions,” von Graevenitz said in response to her election. The new RatSWD will be appointed effective 1 July 2026, for the 9th term, which runs from 2026 to 2029.
