Ta'ziz Partnership for Democracy – German-Arab Short Measures

The aim of the program is to initiate networks or cooperations between university partners and civil society actors from the target countries, primarily the four priority countries Tunisia, Sudan, Lebanon and Iraq, but also Algeria, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Libya and Morocco. Further objectives of the program are the acquisition of competencies by the participants, the integration of new and innovative teaching methods/content into teaching, the setting of impulses at the partner universities for networking with companies/organizations (e.g. for the implementation of internships) and the initiation of processes to strengthen academic freedom and to support reform efforts at the partner universities.

What is funded?

Funding is available for short measures such as introductory trips and fact-finding missions, events in the target countries or the same events in Germany with Arab participants from the target countries, continuing education and training, workshops, and the creation and/or further development of (teaching/learning) materials.

Who can be funded?

University teachers, university staff, doctoral candidates, graduates and students from Germany and the Arab partner countries and civil society actors. All disciplines are eligible to apply.
