ERC Consolidator Grant

Deadline: January 12^th 2027

The ERC Consolidator Grant is aimed at researchers who have a scientific track record showing great promise and can develop an excellent research proposal. A competitive Consolidator Grant PI should have already shown evidence of research independence.

• Target group: Researchers of any nationality with 5–15 years of experience since completion of PhD
• Funding: Up to 2 Million EUR
• Grant Period: 5 years

Applicants should reflect on the following questions to check their ERC readiness:

1. Research Vision
   What will become possible after your project that is impossible today?
   Can you clearly explain why this research matters now?
2. Groundbreaking Nature
   Does the project take a disruptive approach that opens new scientific possibilities more than improving existing ones? 
3. Principal Investigator
   Is it clear that you are the right person to lead this work? 
   Does your track record support the project’s ambition?
