Recap of the ENGAGE.EU Annual Conference 2024
The ENGAGE.EU Annual Conference 2024 took place from 29 to 31 October at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Altogether, 170 people from ten universities attended the conference – including all ten rectors and presidents. The University of St. Gallen joined the association with great applause as the tenth associate member, as did the new Secretary General Sabine Sainte-Rose, who will take office in January 2025.
The conference focused, among other things, on the joint program “Global Sustainability Management” (GSM), the adoption of strategic guidelines for future digitalization initiatives as well as the support for doctoral students and early-state researchers. The GSM graduate-level program will start in the fall of 2026 and will be embedded in the local program offering at each member institution. Participants also discussed the current state of the ENGAGE.EU activities in the fields of learning, research and innovation as well as societal outreach. Some societal partners also took part in the conference, such as the City of Mannheim, the Metropolitan Region Rhine-Neckar, and SAP. They were particularly involved in the development of formats and joint activities within the societal outreach area.
