CHE University Ranking: Top Ratings for Psychology and Romance Studies
Psychology and Romance Studies consistently rank among the best in most categories / German Studies also demonstrates excellent study organization.

Once again, the University of Mannheim has been ranked highly in the latest university ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE)). It received top ratings in nearly all categories for Psychology and Romance Studies, highlighting the exceptional quality of its academic programs. The German Studies program achieved impressive results, particularly in the organization of the academic program and the guidance offered to students at the outset of their studies. Over the years, the University of Mannheim has consistently ranked among the top institutions in the CHE rankings, excelling in fields such as business administration, economics, political science, sociology, business informatics, and law.
Psychology: Top performance in nearly every category
The University of Mannheim confirmed its position as one of the leading institutions in Germany for Psychology, being ranked as one of the top institutions in 14 of 15 categories. Among other categories, Mannheim Psychology received top marks for “study organization,” “examination organization,” “introduction to academic work,” “support for stays abroad,” “career orientation offers,” “rooms for courses” and “rooms for studying and working.” The University of Mannheim is also in the top group for the special category “support for first-year students” with 11 out of 14 points.
Romance and German Studies: Excellent study environment for humanities programs
The humanities programs at the University of Mannheim also received notable recognition in the current CHE rankings, once again securing a place among the leading institutions for humanities in a countrywide comparison. The bachelor's programs “Culture and Economy: German Studies” and “Culture and Economy: Romance Studies” as well as the degree programs “Romance Studies: Language, Literature and Media” and “German Studies: Language, Literature and Media” were all analyzed.
The University of Mannheim ranks highly in 14 out of 16 categories within Romance Studies. The categories “general study environment,” “study organization,” “support from lecturers,” “support during studies,” “rooms for courses,” and “rooms for studying and working” were rated particularly highly. In the evaluation of the special category “support for first-year students,” Romance Studies scored 14 out of 16 points, tying for second place.
The German Studies program also performed very well. In 10 of the 15 categories evaluated, it is positioned in the leading group. It achieved particularly good ratings in the categories “study organization,” “support for stays abroad” and “rooms for courses.” German Studies, akin to Romance Studies, earned a total of 14 out of 16 points in the category “support for first-year students,” placing it in a shared second position.
