Master’s Program in Psychology: Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
Program ambassador
Hi, my name is Nhat Lam and I've been studying Psychology at the University of Mannheim since 2022. In 2025, I started studying the master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy. If you have any questions about the master’s program in Psychology, the university, the city of Mannheim, or student life, I am happy to help.
Why I chose this program
The program in Psychology includes basic research, applied subjects, and methods. The basic research subjects such as Social Psychology, Psychology of Learning, Personality Psychology, Motivational Psychology, and Perceptual Psychology teach you the theories you will need in the applied subjects such as Work and Organizational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Consumer Psychology, and Educational Psychology. Psychologists further need profound knowledge of the methods to empirically and scientifically deal with these topics. In the master’s program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, you will deepen your knowledge gained in the bachelor's program and specialize in the field of Clinical Psychology.
I knew early on that I wanted to work with people. By the time I completed my bachelor's degree, I had developed a strong interest in Clinical Psychology and was determined to pursue a corresponding master's degree. After my master's degree, I would like to complete the licensing exam and undergo further training to become a psychotherapist.
The master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is intended for students who want to pursue a career in this field. The master's program in Psychology: Work, Economy and Society offers excellent opportunities for anyone who would like to specialize in Consumer Psychology, Social Psychology, Educational Psychology, or Work and Organizational Psychology.
