Hardship

We reserve a certain number of study places on selective degree programs for those applicants experiencing hardship. These places are then allocated based on approved requests for recognition of hardship. Requests can only be recognized if the applicant is tied to Mannheim as a place of study, or is unable to postpone his or her studies, due to significant personal reasons. Cases of hardship may be based on health, personal, or economic reasons.

The reasons behind your request for recognition of hardship as well as all supporting documents of proof must be submitted before the application deadline for the relevant semester. You can submit for example, a medical evaluation or an official certificate as proof. Reasons may be submitted informally.

Please note: Without supporting documents of proof, your application cannot be considered in this quota.
