New Paintings in the Fuchs-Petrolub-Festsaal

The entrepreneur Dr. Manfred Fuchs gives his alma mater three paintings as permanent loans which complement the art in the Schloss.

The three acrylic paintings titled “blau-gelb-schwarz” (blue-yellow-black), “Rote Lava” (red lava) and “Stadt am Meer” (city by the sea) can be seen in the Fuchs-Petrolub-Festsaal on the first floor of the Ostflügel. They will be on display until at least 2025. When the paintings were officially handed over in the Schloss, President Prof. Dr. Thomas Puhl thanked the longterm sponsor and painter of the works, Dr. Manfred Fuchs, for the generous loan. He pointed out that engaging with art is very important to the University of Mannheim. The university will really benefit from the paintings: “They add new colors and vehemence to the Fuchs-Petrolub-Festsaal. The style of the painting harmonizes wonderfully with the wall paintings at the front and in the back”, says Puhl.
