Small Figures, Big Message
When it comes to cybersecurity, dry policy reminders often go unnoticed. But the University of Mannheim’s Information Security Team is taking a fresh, creative approach with its awareness campaign, “Little University.” Through playful miniature scenes captured in a stunning photo calendar, the campaign delivers big messages on IT security in an engaging way.

For “Little University,” the Information Security Team partnered with Mannheim-based photographer Benedikt Hild of Little Fotografie to bring 19 unique scenes to life. Shot at various locations across campus, the images transform cybersecurity topics—from encryption and password security to phishing scams—into visually striking, thought-provoking snapshots.
A photo calendar that keeps security in sight
At the heart of the campaign is a perpetual photo calendar, featuring the miniature security scenes. Each month highlights a new cybersecurity theme, with detailed explanations on the back of each page. Employees can order a copy through the Information Security Team’s website.
The Information Security Team is also offering one-on-one consultations and training sessions for employees looking to deepen their understanding of best practices. Appointments can be scheduled via infosicherheit. uni-mannheim.de
