Who are alumni?

Alumni (or alumnae) are graduates of a university. The term comes from Latin and literally means “one who is nurtured.” So if you have completed your bachelor’s or master’s degree, or earned your doctorate at the University of Mannheim, you can count yourself among our alumni.

By the way: On this page, we use the term “alumni” (or graduates) because a gender-sensitive Latin form can be difficult to understand: alumna = singular, female / alumnae = plural, female / alumnus = singular, male / alumni = plural, male).

Career paths of our graduates

Our graduates share the professional paths they have taken and what continues to connect them with the university.
