New Executive Vice President Now Officially in Office

Since 1 January 2023, Dr. Katrin Schoppa-Bauer is the Executive Vice President of the University of Mannheim. On 8 February, she officially assumed office at a ceremony in the university’s Aula.

In his speech, Professor Thomas Puhl, President of the University of Mannheim, praised Dr. Schoppa-Bauer’s management skills, her experience with the university’s structures, her knowledge in the field of law, and her extensive network within and outside of the university. Margret Suckale, chair of the University Supervisory Board, and Achim Brötz, chair of the Staff Council, also welcomed the new Executive Vice President. 

Dr. Schoppa-Bauer is the second full-time member of the President’s Office and is responsible for the university’s personnel and budget administration. At the same time, she heads the central administration. In the upcoming years, Dr. Schoppa-Bauer plans to secure the funding of the university and to promote digitalization. The Executive Vice President’s term of office is six years.
