    Language proficiency
    In addition to German language skills (see “Application and selection”), you have to provide proof of a very good level of English proficiency. To do so, you can, for example, submit the grades you achieved in English classes taken during the final years of German upper secondary education, or take a language test. For details, please see the selection statutes.

  • Program overview

    The bachelor’s program in Business Administration provides you with a comprehensive education, teaching you the fundamentals of business and economics in the following fields:

    • Marketing & Sales
    • Finance
    • Accounting & Taxation
    • Management
    • Information Systems
    • Operations Management

    You will also attend seminars on soft skills such as conflict management and time management. 

    The program also has a unique international focus. Students have the options of studying abroad and attending language courses in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese. In addition, you can specialize in mandatory elective areas in the fourth semester. Students typically spend their fifth semester abroad and write their bachelor's thesis in the sixth semester.

    Internships
    According to the examination regulations, internships are not mandatory. However, we recommend that you complete one in a relevant sector during your studies.

  • Application and selection

    Important information on the awarding of study places

    • For your application to be successful, you must apply in due time and form and fulfill the admission requirements for your chosen program of study.
    • If a program of study is selective, the selection criteria set out in the relevant selection statutes apply in addition to the admission requirements. The University of Mannheim does not apply a numerus clausus system (grade-point average for admission to certain programs of study).
    • All of our bachelor's programs require German language skills. If you do not have a German university entrance qualification (Abitur or equivalent qualification), you must submit proof of proficiency in German at C1 level

    The bachelor’s program in Business Administration is currently selective. The following selection criteria are taken into account:

    • the grade average achieved in your university entrance qualification
    • the grades achieved during the final four semesters of your German upper secondary education in Mathematics, German, and the foreign language you continued to study
    • work experience in the business sector; extracurricular activities relating to the field of study
    • a very good level of English proficiency

There is something for everyone! In addition to that, I really like the wide and clearly structured range of courses providing insights into all fields of Business Administration as well as the fact that many courses are taught in English. This way, you feel well prepared for your transition to working life.

Studying Business Administration at the University of Mannheim is more than just studying a standard degree program. The environment and community inside and outside the lecture halls are inspiring. This allows us to put what we learn into practice while we are still at university. The university's unique international offers are also special. For example, I have the opportunity to study on four continents as part of my bachelor's program. Research and teaching are also future-oriented and excellent. And, of course, there is Mannheim itself with its very own charm. All of this makes studying Business Administration here unique and provides me with a foundation for a successful future. I would definitely choose the University of Mannheim again every time!
