The ranking assesses how well the skills of the listed universities’ graduates align with the surveyed employers’ requirements. This year, the University of Mannheim has been ranked number 125 globally, improving on last year’s ranking by 14 places. In a Germany-wide comparison, the university has thus reached tenth place. Out of all state and private higher education institutions in Germany, only a total of 19 universities were included in the ranking. The inclusion and place in the ranking once again emphasize the practical relevance of the programs of study at the University of Mannheim and the resulting very good career prospects for graduates.
The ranking is based on a survey by the French consulting firm Emerging and is published by Times Higher Education (THE). Human resources managers from a total of 32 countries and various sectors were asked for their opinions on which higher education institutions had the best graduates. They could choose from the 250 best universities worldwide and had to give reasons for their choices. The results show that they value provable skills and adaptability more than static references. The graduates’ competencies and professional experience are the most important factors when evaluating their employability. The changes due to AI, collaborations with partners from the business world, and the transfer of research findings are visible proof of employment-oriented innovation.
The ranking is based on a total of 119,967 votes and has been published since 2010.
