Career
During my studies, I gained extensive practical experience through internships at various companies and institutions, as well as through my volunteer work with ARTgenossen Mannheim. After completing my degree in Mannheim, I began a master’s program in International Art Management at the Cologne University of Music and Dance, followed by a second bachelor’s degree in Art History at the University of Cologne.
While studying, I worked for the young art lovers’ association jungenkunstfreunde at Museum Ludwigshafen and the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne, as well as in several galleries and an artist’s studio. I also completed international internships in Rome (Villa Massimo) and Madrid (Fundación Juan March).
After finishing my studies, I completed a two-year traineeship at the Kunstmuseen Krefeld, which led to a position as research assistant to the director. I later moved to Munich to join Sotheby’s, and subsequently transitioned to IPAI, where I initially worked as Lead Art & Culture. In 2025, I was promoted to Head of AI Engagement & Literacy at the IPAI Foundation.
Tips for starting your career
Passion always pays off—in my case, it’s for art and culture. Equally important are networking, dedication, perseverance, and persistence. Those who truly enjoy what they do are the ones who will succeed in the long run.
If you don’t enjoy your degree program, you shouldn’t force yourself to finish it for its own sake. Taking a different path is not a step backward, but often a sign of clarity—it means you know what you want, and just as importantly, what you don’t.
Relevance of the studied program
Studying in Mannheim was both challenging and demanding—and that’s precisely what taught me to be ambitious and to consistently perform at a high level. During this time, I also developed strong organizational and time-management skills. The university’s excellent reputation has had a lasting positive impact on my career path and professional profile.
