Global Sustainability Management (GSM)
Changing the world starts by changing your worldview
The GSM program brings together master students from all ENGAGE.EU partner universities and different fields of study. This two-semester program combines current topics in sustainability research with an international experience through interactive workshops, immersive learning and hands-on project work. You will benefit from the expertise of our ENGAGE.EU top academics and sustainability practitioners – building your professional network.
The program, which can be integrated into your degree program, offers the unique opportunity to join a cohort of international students in a first-class learning experience with seamlessly coordinated components and receive an additional qualifying certificate.
At the University of Mannheim, the program is currently open for the following Master's programs:
- Master in Management (MMM)
- Master in Culture and Economics (MAKUWI) Philosophy
- Master in Culture and Economics (MAKUWI) History
Structure of the program
The GSM program comprises two semesters (60 ECTS in total), which you complete as part of your Mannheim Master's degree.
You will spend the first GSM semester together with all GSM students in your cohort at an ENGAGE.EU partner university abroad to learn core skills – in addition to academic seminars, boot camps and team-building workshops will take place in parallel. Innovative learning methods (including immersive learning, simulations and project labs) enable an intensive and comprehensive learning experience.
You will spend the second GSM semester either at the University of Mannheim or at another partner university from the ENGAGE.EU consortium. Due to the hybrid design of the Electives program, you can choose courses from different universities, no matter where you spend your second GSM semester.
Please get in touch with the contact from your school (see below) to find out which options are suitable for your degree program.
Stays abroad are financially supported by the Erasmus program.
Completion of the program
Once you have completed all GSM courses, you will have completed the GSM and will receive an official certificate. A separate final examination is not required.
After consultation with your school, you can get the achievements from the GSM recognized as an examination achievement in your degree program in Mannheim or as an achievement abroad.
