CASI Workshop in Frankfurt Advances Integrated Corporate Carbon Accounting

Around 40 experts from academia and industry came together in Frankfurt for a CASI workshop to further advance Integrated Corporate Carbon Accounting (ICCA). The workshop was organized by Christoph Ernst, Postdoctoral Researcher at MISES, with Stefan Reichelstein and the MISES team participating alongside around 35 additional experts.
Participants of the global Carbon Accounting Standards Initiative (CASI) deepened the common understanding of key ICCA building blocks, including the tight integration of corporate and product carbon accounting, the strong alignment with financial and management accounting principles, and the use of established standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) and ISO.
The results of this work are documented in CASI Whitepaper No. 1 and No. 2, providing further guidance for organizations on implementing ICCA in practice.
