The other self – the immersive human being

Altes Volksbad – Mittelstraße 42, 68169 Mannheim

An interactive conference on identity, empathy and self-efficacy through hybrid worlds of experience.

Mental stress, social isolation and educational inequality pose new challenges for social work, education and culture. Hybrid technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and digital experience spaces offer innovative approaches to address these challenges: They make complex realities of life tangible, strengthen empathy and open up new ways of communication beyond linguistic or cultural boundaries.

The interactive conference “The other self – the immersive person” brings together experts from the fields of social work, technology, science, art and culture. It focuses on the question of how immersive formats make identity tangible, promote self-efficacy and enable social participation – and what role they can play in social fields of action in the future.

Participation is free of charge, registration is required.
