studyconnect – Netiquette
On the studyconnect platform as well as the associated tool Microsoft Teams, we do not tolerate offensive or illegal content. When communicating with your study partners via Microsoft Teams, please refrain from
- making threats, engaging in bullying, harassment, insults, demeaning behavior, defamation, slander, baseless accusations, or hate speech in any form.
- posting content that is xenophobic, sexist, or discriminatory towards minorities, communities, or individuals.
- posting content that explicitly supports political, religious, and/
or ideological agendas. - Endorsing, inciting, or glorifying violence, war, discrimination, unconstitutional or anti-democratic actions.
- sharing pornographic or sadistic content.
Do not post any ads or spam.
Respect privacy and anonymity. Please help us protect the privacy and rights of other users. Do not disclose personal/
As a user of the platform respect copyright and intellectual property rights. In particular, make sure that you have the rights to distribute content, photos, artworks or other legally protected works on this platform. By uploading specific content you are confirming that you have the permission required to do so.
“Be careful what you say!” While it's fine to be casual and use dialect or colloquial language, offensive language, swear words, or similar expressions are not tolerated. Likewise, sexist remarks are not tolerated. Stay friendly and open. Please stay objective and fair, even if you feel attacked or insulted by a statement. You are welcome to contact us, if you feel you have been treated unfairly. The easiest way to do so is sending a message to studyconnect@uni-mannheim.de.
In order to make sure that the conversation is accessible for everyone, please post in German, English or a mutually agreed language that all members of your study group understand.
Users who ignore the netiquette of our platform despite multiple warnings will be excluded from using the platform.
We are unable to review all postings in a timely manner. Therefore, administrators cannot be held responsible or liable for the content of comments. Each user is responsible for their own contributions. We would like to point out that you can be prosecuted for comments violating applicable law even when they are posted online and you can be reported by the University of Mannheim or by other users.
