ENGAGE.EU Expedition at NHH Bergen on Sustainability

The event was a collaboration between ENGAGE.EU and Bergen Entrepreneurship Academy, and brought together students and lecturers from various universities to promote innovative collaboration and entrepreneurship.
The ENGAGE.EU Expedition was open to students from all ENGAGE.EU partner universities and lasted ten days. The students learned about sustainable entrepreneurship and worked in international teams. Norsk Klimastiftelse (a Norwegian climate foundation) presented a challenge related to sustainability and green mobility, which the students had to transform into a concrete business idea by seeing it from the user‘s perspective.
Professor Bram Timmermans from NHH was responsible for the academic part of the summer school, and strongly believes that students profit from challenges that are a little outside their comfort zone.
“We want a dynamic and interdisciplinary atmosphere that stimulates innovation. The students will go out in Bergen and talk to people, develop their business ideas based on what they learn“, says Bram.
The program challenged the students’ curiosity, with academic content related to design thinking and sustainable business models delivered by lecturers from NHH and the ENGAGE.EU partner ESADE (Ramon Llull University). By combining theory with practical tasks, students developed their entrepreneurial skills and were able to contribute to sustainable development.
The next ENGAGE.EU Expedition will take place in Sofia in October 2023.
