Every month, students report on their experiences at the University of Mannheim.

Emiliana Michelena was born and raised in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. In 2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, she packed her bags and moved over 8,000 kilometers to Germany. She is currently in the fifth semester of a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. In her myUniMA story, Emiliana shares why she decided to make the long journey, and she talks about her future plans as well as unforgettable moments from her studies.
