New Exhibition: “Spitzenklasse – im Studium und Spitzensport 3.0”

The exhibition “Spitzenklasse – im Studium und Spitzensport 3.0” has been on display on the first floor of Ehrenhof Ost since 22 October 2025.

The exhibition shows the current holders of the Elite Sports Scholarship at the University of Mannheim and the Mannheim Business School. The scholarship program supports student elite athletes in reconciling their studies with competitive sports—in terms of both organization and finances.

For this photo series, the university collaborated with photographers Matthias Hangst and Rudolf Lange. The clothing for the project was provided by the company Engelhorn. The portraits show the scholarship holders in outfits that all combine a sporty and a fashionable side—with a jersey of the national team or their sports club on the one hand and fashion from Engelhorn on the other. The images make visible how students switch between the demands of sports, academic commitments, and professional orientation.

The exhibition will be on display until 31 August 2026. It is the first one realized on the new exhibition rails in the EO corridor. These rails could be acquired thanks to donations from the Freunde der Universität Mannheim and the University of Mannheim Foundation.
