Since 2020, Zoom is the University of Mannheim’s platform for video conferences and online events. Mid-November, the university of Mannheim will switch to Zoom X, which is offered by Deutsche Telekom GmbH in collaboration with Zoom Video Communications Inc. The user interface and the features are identical, but Zoom X is hosted on servers in Germany.
Due to the migration, it will not be possible to host online meetings on:
- Sunday, 19 November from 1 a.m. until 6 a.m.
- Thursday, 23 November 2023, from 23 p.m. until Friday, 24 November 2023, 5 a.m.
All account settings and licenses will be migrated to Zoom X. Zoom rooms you have already booked and scheduled meetings will continue to exist. You can also use the same login information. You can login as always and host virtual meetings and events. The access numbers for those participating via phone must be updated if the meetings have been created before the migration.
