Wireless Internet connection: New security certificate requires new installation of eduroam

By November 20, 2025, all members of the University of Mannheim must reinstall eduroam on their devices.

The certificate that enables a secure wireless Internet-connection on our campus has been updated. To continue using the eduroam Wi-Fi, you will need to reinstall it on all your devices. This is relevant for all members, students, and employees of the University of Mannheim, no matter if they use eduroam on campus in Mannheim or at any other university.

The installation can be carried out immediately, but must be completed by November 20, 2025, at the latest. To ensure correct and secure installation, please use the official eduroam installation software at https://cat.eduroam.org/?idp=5242&profile=5288 (University of Mannheim already connected). At the top of the website you can also select your language. It is not necessary to uninstall your previous version beforehand.

After November 20, 2025, it will no longer be possible to use eduroam with the expired certificate. For more information on installation, please refer to our instructions at https://www.uni-mannheim.de/en/it/instructions/wireless-access/#c137527.
