Sustainable Futures

What is Sustainable Futures?

Sustainable Futures is an interdisciplinary project that is being developed in collaboration with experts and revolves around the topic of sustainability. The aim is to create a digital learning environment comprising various learning modules. Each of them focuses on an important topic concerning sustainability and consists of learning videos and supplementary material. The learning modules can be partly or fully and flexibly integrated in classes and courses. No prior knowledge is required to use the modules. Sustainable Futures unites latest research findings with practical insights in various aspects of sustainability. The focus lies on the question of what individuals, institutions, and communities can do to create a sustainable future.

Why Sustainable Futures?

Universities are the educational institutions of future decision-makers. Therefore, they play a crucial role in enabling students to master global challenges. Sustainable Futures aims to make research on sustainability more visible. Additionally, we also want to create simple ways to integrate the topic into teaching. Whether used as an introduction to the topic, a digression, a practical example or a complete teaching unit – the contents can be flexibly integrated into courses and classes. The inter- and transdisciplinary orientation of Sustainable Futures promotes a comprehensive examination of the challenges of sustainability beyond one's own discipline and academic perspective.
