I have always been deeply interested in both Economics and English, but I never knew these two fields could be combined in one program. When I discovered it, I knew right away that I wanted to study in Mannheim. Every day, I’m glad I made that choice—and I can’t wait for my semester abroad!

For me, the bachelor’s program in Media and Communication Studies and Business Administration taught at the University of Mannheim stands out for its fascinating interdisciplinary focus, which allows me to explore two worlds at once. The combination offers a solid foundation in communication research and methodology, complemented by in-depth knowledge of business administration. This prepares me for a wide range of career paths in areas such as human resources, public relations, and market or academic research. In addition, the University of Mannheim impressed me with its high academic standards, the wide variety of student organizations, and its strong career support services.

I chose to study at the University of Mannheim because I was interested in the combination of Philosophy and Economics—and I was not disappointed. In the philosophical part of the program, you learn to approach fascinating questions independently, in a structured and in-depth way. I particularly appreciated the freedom to choose from a variety of courses later in the program, which allows you to tailor your studies to your personal interests. The atmosphere in the Philosophy program is very informal, and there are always people eager to engage in discussion. The combination with Economics is a perfect fit. Mannheim also offers a unique opportunity: if you complete all the introductory courses of the bachelor’s program in Economics within a specialization module, you can gain direct admission to the master’s program in Economics.

My studies at the University of Mannheim allow me to pursue my passion for Spanish while also opening up a wide range of career opportunities through the combination with Business Administration. I was immediately impressed by the university’s excellent network of international partner institutions—a major advantage, especially for language studies. Since my first semester, I have been actively involved with ESN Visum Mannheim, a student organization supporting international students, where I’ve been able to expand my intercultural experiences. With its unique campus and the perfect size for a student city, Mannheim provides an ideal environment to begin your university life.
