Doing Good during the Holiday Season: Donation Campaign for Students of the University of Mannheim

The University of Mannheim Foundation will collect donations for committed and successful students of the university. The donations will be awarded to students in the form of Deutschland Scholarships meaning that the federal government will double the amount donated by private individuals.

The Deutschland Scholarship is a government-funded program to support gifted students by providing them with financial freedom to give them the opportunity for social commitment. Half of the scholarship is funded by private individuals and the other half is funded by the federal government. With 150 euros a month from a private individual, students will receive 300 euros in total per month. Currently, the University of Mannheim is able to award 123 Deutschland Scholarships. “We would have needed at least 160 scholarships to award a scholarship to all students who submitted very good applications,” says Sabrina Scherbarth from the Foundation Management.

The University of Mannheim Foundation and the University of Mannheim are looking forward to receiving donations for the students. The names of all donors will be published on the website of the foundation. In addition, donors can be named as supporters of the Deutschland Scholarship. A whole scholarship amounts to 1,800 euros. The foundation will combine donations of 50 euros and more for a full scholarship.

Donations can be made via an online form (https://www.uni-mannheim.de/en/foundation/supporting/online-donation/) or via bank transfer to:
