Call for nominations “Philipp Schwartz Initiative of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation”
If you are in contact with a researcher at risk who would be eligible for the call (conditions see below), please nominate the person with Division I (verst-liziusverwaltung.uni-mannheim.de). The deadline for applications to the AvH Foundation is 15 September 2023.

Since the University of Mannheim already receives funding by PSI, only the candidate, the mentor and the research project will be reviewed.
Funding
Scholarship funds per fellow for a period of up to 24 months. In addition, the host institution will receive a lump sum of 20,000 EUR for each Philipp Schwartz fellow hosted.
Conditions for application
Research projects will be considered for funding by demonstrably at-risk researchers from all disciplines and countries of origin who
- hold a doctorate or equivalent academic degree (Ph.D., C.Sc. or equivalent);
- hold an current confirmation of threat
- in general have not yet spent more than three years away from their home countries at the time of application;
- demonstrate the language skills required for the successful completion of the research project;
- have academic qualifications (e.g. publications);
- have potential to be integrated into the (research-related) job market;
- have not yet been funded in the context of the Philipp Schwartz Initiative.
