After a welcoming address by the rector, Prof. Dr. Fetzer, and the initiators of Salon Diplomatique e. V., the Albanian ambassador Adia Sakiqi gives a lecture on the topic “Does EU enlargement in Southeast Europe contribute to the prosperity and stability of EU – the case of Albania.”

This is what the lecture will be about: In view of growing geopolitical tensions, particularly due to Russian influence, EU enlargement can contribute to Europe's stability and security. Economically, the integration of Albania offers opportunities for trade, investment and the energy sector. In addition, Albania's accession to the EU could help to control irregular migration and make the labor market more sustainable.

The event will be moderated by Koleta Ejlli, LL.M., lawyer and lecturer at the SRH University Heidelberg.

The lecture will be held in English. A discussion round is planned afterwards.
