Central institutions of the University Administration

The Student Services are in charge if you have general questions on your studies, they are responsible for your enrollment and for the coordination of exams.
The Admissions Office is in charge of all matters regarding applications and admissions.
The International Office supports and advises students in planning and organizing their studies abroad. Moreover, the International Office is the first point of contact for all international students.

The schools and departments are in charge of the academic advising and degree planning. For example, the individual program managers are in charge of course registration and orientation events for first-year students. At the School of Humanities and at the School of Business Informatics and Mathematics, you can also contact advisors for subject-specific academic advice that inform about the contents of the programs of study.
All matters regarding the examination regulations, such as extensions of deadlines or recognition of credits are being handled by the respective examination committee.

The AStA – Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss represents the students’ interests towards the university. AStA offers social counseling services for students and several other services such as an online job board.
Matters regarding e-mail accounts, internet access and ecUM are the responsibility of the University IT.
The University Library offers students conventional media and digital resources, innovative study rooms for creative group work and individual workspaces, subject-specific advice, as well as courses and tutorials on academic writing and working with research data.
The Department of Gender Equality and Social Diversity advises students on studying under special circumstances such as studying with children, studying with a disability or studying while caring for a relative. Moreover, it supports students who find themselves in difficult situations in their personal lives.
The Studierendenwerk Mannheim answers questions on financing your studies and housing. It also supports students with disabilities, students with children, and students who find themselves in crises due to exhaustion or difficulties with studying.
The alumni network ABSOLVENTUM MANNHEIM offers students and alumni of all Schools and Departments a comprehensive mentoring and coaching program. The mentoring and coaching services are cross-sector, location-independent, and international.
