Academy of Sciences and Humanities of Baden-Württemberg Prizes 2026

In 2026 the Academy of Sciences and Humanities of Baden-Württemberg will award prizes of up to € 85,000 in total for excellent research works by early career researchers in Baden-Württemberg.

List of prizes to be awarded:

  • Akademiepreis (this year for works in engineering, science, and mathematics)
  • Walter-Witzenmann-Preis (for works concerning societal and culture changes as well as technological transformations and their impact on present times)
  • Ökologiepreis der Viktor & Sigrid Dulger-Stiftung (for works from all disciplines concerned with environmental problems and their solutions)
  • Manfred-Fuchs-Preis (for works that build bridges between different disciplines)
  • Manfred-Lautenschläger-Preis (for history, society, and culture)
  • Hector Stiftung-Preis (IT and robotics)

As a rule, members of the Academy as well as heads of scientific institutions at universities and non-university research institutes in Baden-Württemberg are eligible to nominate postdoctoral researchers or habilitated researchers/research group leaders, depending on the specific prize. Self-nominations are not possible.
