Professor Hiram Kümper Appointed to the Commission for Historical Regional Studies

Since he was appointed professor at the University of Mannheim in the summer of 2013, Professor Dr. Hiram Kümper has focused on researching the history of the Electoral Palatinate and its presentation in museums. He is primarily interested in the economic and social history of the Rhine-Neckar region and the City of Mannheim. His latest work includes research on the Mannheim court library (Mannheimer Hofbibliothek) during the French Revolutionary Wars and on the financing of the Nationaltheater.
The professor of history has been appointed one of 60 full members of the commission for historical regional studies in Baden-Württemberg. Four other researchers from the University of Mannheim are already members of the commission: Prof. Dr. Philipp Gassert, Prof. Dr. Angela Borgstedt, honorary professor Dr. Ulrich Nieß as well as honorary professor Dr. Maria-Magdalena Rückert.
