Start of the Fall Semester on 6 September: More In-Person Classes Possible

Students and teachers now need a Classroom Pass for participating in classes on-campus.

The new lecture period is about to begin, and the University of Mannheim is busy preparing for the fall semester. We are looking forward to having more in-person classes than in the previous year.

As of this semester, students and teachers need a Classroom Pass to participate in in-person classes or to participate in online classes while being on campus. To receive a Classroom Pass, students and teachers must go to the Classroom Pass Center in the Arkadentheater (EW 086, Schloss Ehrenhof West, ground floor) and present proof of vaccination, recovery or testing. The Classroom Pass Center opens on Wednesday, 1 September and is open every weekday from 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. You can find  important questions and answers about the Classroom Pass Center on our website.

Just like last year, contact tracing will be necessary again in this semester. For this reason, participants of in-person classes must register via Portal² in advance. When you are on campus for the specific class, you must either use Checkin or complete a paper form for checking into the room.

Also this semester applies: Please watch out for one another! Please keep a distance of 1.5 meters to each other, wash and sanitize your hands regularly and keep in mind that you are obliged to wear a medical-grade face mask on campus. In this semester, anyone accessing the University of Mannheim must wear a face mask in all university buildings and rooms. Exceptions are possible in classes if the distance of 1.5 meters between the seats can be maintained. Please ask your teachers if this is the case for your classes.

More information on how to behave during the coronavirus pandemic is available on the coronavirus information page for students and the university’s general coronavirus information page.
