Personal profile
Dr. Katrin Schoppa-Bauer studied Law at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. She then completed her legal training in Kaiserslautern, Mainz and Wiesbaden. After the second state examination in law, she worked as an academic staff member at the chair of administrative sciences, development policy and public law, held by Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Rainer Pitschas in Speyer. In 2011, she obtained a doctoral degree (Dr. iur.). In the same year, she became manager of the Department of Law of the School of Law and Economics at the University of Mannheim. From 2018 onwards, she worked for the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts Baden-Württemberg and returned to the University of Mannheim two years later. She headed the President's Office in 2021 and 2022. Since 1 January 2023, she is the Executive Vice President of the university.
