Diversity in Research and Teaching

The Schools and Departments cover diversity from very different perspectives. Here are a few examples:

• The Mannheim Centre for European Social Research analyzes the stigmatization of ethnic groups in German news coverage  (in German).
• In Literary Studies as well as Linguistics, researchers focus on gender aspects in all literature periods and for example in corpus linguistics.
• In Sociology, aspects such as gender, inequality, and migration are examined.
• In Political Science, topics like gender and international relations as well as the political identity of LGBTQ* people in Europe are analyzed.
• Education Sciences cover aspects like heterogeneity, diversity, and inclusion.
• In Media Studies, for example, bodies and gender in contemporary cinema are examined.
• In Business Administration, for example, the effects of the pandemic on early-stage researchers with children are examined.
• In Economics, gender-specific differences on the labor market are a possible field of research.
