Hello! I am Pawlos and I am studying the bachelor’s program: Culture and Economy: History with a minor in Business Administration. I’ve been enrolled at the University of Mannheim since the fall semester 2020/2021. I am also active in the departmental student committee for History and Classical Studies. Why I chose this program

The bachelor’s program Culture and Economy: History combines exciting and interesting aspects of Humanities and Economics. The major in History offers a variety of topics: from the Peloponnesian War in ancient times to the fall of the Berlin Wall in the modern age. You will also be able to attend courses in Cultural Studies and Business Communication. The minor in Business Administration represents the economic part of your program: For example, you will gain knowledge in accounting, management and marketing. In addition to this, you will gain insights into possible fields of work and interesting practical activities through cultural practice modules.

    If you would like to continue your academic education, you have the option of pursuing a doctorate after your master's degree.

  • Career opportunities

    History graduates can work in museums, archives, in administrative positions, at media companies or in science journalism. An academic career is also open to alumni with a master's degree.

    With the minor in Business Administration or Economics, you have even more options. Since you gain a lot of basic knowledge through your studies, you may start a job in any economic sector. Whether in management, marketing, accounting, etc. – the choice is yours.
