Dr. Cornelius Schneider Receives Funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

The post-doctoral researcher in Economics at the University of Mannheim has been accepted into the prestigious “Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience” (PRIME) program of the DAAD.

In his research, Schneider, academic staff member at the chair of junior professor Wladislaw Mill, deals with questions such as optimal taxation and public finances, in particular, while using methods of experimental and behavioral economics. Schneider receives the DAAD funding for his current research project, in which he analyzes the potential positive outcomes of tax evasion.

Currently, Schneider is visiting the Norwegian Centre for Taxation (NoCeT) at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), an ENGAGE.EU partner university of the University of Mannheim, for the research stay abroad that is mandatory in the PRIME program.

Schneider is one of 11 fellows funded by the DAAD in the Social Sciences and Humanities. Here you can see the list of the current fellows: https://www.daad.de/de/studieren-und-forschen-in-deutschland/stipendien-finden/prime/prime-fellows-202021/

About the PRIME program
In 2014, the DAAD has established the funding program “Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience“ (PRIME) to support the international mobility of post-doctoral researchers. Instead of traditional fellowships, the fellows hold temporary positions at higher education institutions in Germany. The funding period consists of a research stay abroad that lasts for 12 months and a six-month return phase at a higher education institution in Germany, where the fellows are employed as post-doctoral researchers during the entire funding period. The PRIME program is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Union (FP7/Marie Curie Actions/COFUND).
