Free Online Course Equips Teachers and Students with Data Literacy Skills for Digital Teaching and Learning

As of 1 March, an alliance of higher education institutions and companies, including the University of Mannheim and six international partners, will offer a free online course (MOOC) as part of a certificate program designed for anyone interested in acquiring competencies in analyzing educational data and developing and enhancing digital teaching and learning formats.

In one day, the coronavirus pandemic has turned online education into the new reality at schools and universities around the world. Due to the digitalization of teaching and learning, the amount of data produced has increased considerably. Switching to digital teaching and learning formats thus requires both teachers and students alike to develop new skills in designing, teaching, and revising courses.

The online course “Learn to Analyze Educational Data and Improve your Blended and Online Teaching” allows participants to acquire the competencies required for developing and enhancing new digital teaching and learning formats. Furthermore, the course will impart basic knowledge in the fields of educational data analysis and data security.

The free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) will start on 1 March 2021 and takes nine weeks. The course targets e-learning professionals, teaching staff at higher education and other academic institutions, as well as persons with executive functions at educational institutions and students. After successfully completing the course, participants will receive a Certification of Achievement in Educational Data Literacy. Registration is now open on https://learn2analyze.imc-learning.de/pages/new-external-dashboard.jsf?menuId=204756&locale=en-GB#/?dashboardId=204830

The MOOC was developed by the Learn2Analyze Consortium, a knowledge alliance of higher education institutions and companies, recognized by the European Commission. It is financed by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
