Humboldt Foundation Selects Sabine Carey as Henriette Herz Scout

Sabine Cary, Ph.D., Professor of Political Science at the University of Mannheim, was selected as Henriette Herz scout to recruit up to three international talents for a research stay at her chair.

Since 2010, Professor Carey has been holder of the chair of Political Science, International Relations at the University of Mannheim. She specializes in civil war and human rights research. Inter alia, Carey has developed the first global online database of pro-government militias which includes information on more than 500 armed groups from all over the world. As Henriette Herz scout, she will have the opportunity to recommend up to three researchers from abroad for a Humboldt Fellowship and to add other excellent researchers to her team. The program of the Humboldt foundation, worth 125,000 euros, is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
