Joint Programme Summer Seminar in Mannheim
From over 100 applications, 32 students were selected for the Joint Programme in Digital Transformation 2024. This week, they will be working on case studies from our partner companies SAP, Pepperl+Fuchs, the City of Heidelberg, PHOENIX, Secida, Heidelberg University Hospital and the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. After receiving valuable background information in digital block seminars over the past few weeks, they will now have the opportunity to put their acquired knowledge into practice with digital transformation company case studies.
“Last year, it was really fascinating to see what students can achieve in just one week,” said Prof. Dr. Florian Stahl in his welcome speech on Monday, adding with appreciation that they are doing all this in addition to their regular study courses. “I wish all participants an exciting and enriching week. You will not only be rewarded with a certificate and a diploma at the end, but above all with great benefits for your future, such as international networks, practical experience and preparation for leadership roles in digital change,” said Stahl.
Afterwards, guest speaker Phil Loewen from SAP gave an interesting insight in his keynote speech on “The Gamer's Mindset, The Innovator's Mindset ... how to stay curious”. In it, he emphasized the importance of putting humans and their needs at the center of digital “product thinking”.
In addition to methodological input and work on the case studies, various social events such as a visit to the Eichbaum brewery and Schwetzingen Palace Gardens are also organized for the students to promote intercultural networking.
