Reichelstein: Are the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement still achievable?

As part of the University Day 2022 of the University of Mannheim, Stefan Reichelstein gave a lecture on the topic “Are the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement still achievable?”. Reichelstein gave an overview of current research results on the development of global CO2 emissions and raised hope that at least the goal of keeping global warming below 2 degrees by 2050 is achievable, in particular due to falling prices for renewable energies. To achieve this, however, strict CO2 budgets would be necessary, to which all industrialized nations would have to adhere.
