The University of Mannheim’s Tenure Track Statutes (as of 28 November 2018, only available in German) in accordance with section 51b of the act on higher education institutions in the Land of Baden-Württemberg (Landeshochschulgesetz, LHG) and the process in accordance with section 48 subsection 1 sentence 6 of the LHG provide for two additional paths to attaining a lifetime professorship, besides the traditional appointment of researchers to a lifetime professorship.
