8 Quick Warm-up Questions to ...

Lisa Nippgen

Which discipline is “your discipline”?

Athletics – short sprint.

And what is your top discipline here at the university?

Business Law

How did you get into athletics?

I was always the sidekick when my brother went to his athletics training. I was actually still too young, but I was always allowed to join the older kids.

When did you start preparing for the 2024 Olympics?

In September 2023.

There is the saying: “Being there is everything”. Now you are not competing in Paris...

Being there was actually my focus.

University and the Olympics – how does this go together?

I have taken a semester off for the spring/summer semester 2024. I also receive support from the Elite Sports Scholarship Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region. I get help with learning as well as planning my studies to allow more time for sports.

Is there some downtime left?

I also have time to enjoy my life. But because everything in my life is focused on sports, I like to do quiet and relaxing things in my free time. I'm only off training on Sundays, so I have never been to the Schneckenhof, for example.

What is more stressful for you: Competition or state examination?

I wrote the civil law state exams for my bachelor's degree in September 2023 and have never slept so badly, due to being nervous and anxious.

Dear Lisa, we are keeping our fingers crossed for you for the next Olympic Games.
