Love Data Week

The global Love Data Week takes place from the 12th to the 16th of February 2024 with an interesting programme of events also taking place in Germany and at the University of Mannheim.

Love Data Week is a worldwide event week dedicated to research data and research data management. From the 12th to the 16th of February 2024, the love of data will be celebrated with a variety of events worldwide under the motto “My Kind of Data”. The FDM initiatives in German-speaking countries are actively participating in Love Data Week to draw attention to the topic of research data management.

Introduction to Research Data Management

You will receive an overview of the basics of research data management. These begin with the planning of data management, include the documentation of data and end with the sharing and archiving of data.

Historische Dokumente erschließen leicht gemacht: Ein Crashkurs zur Transkriptions­plattform eScriptorium

The text recognition and transcription platform eScriptorium facilitates the indexing of historical sources regardless of the type of document. eScriptorium is a free open source alternative to Transkribus. The workshop offers the opportunity to learn the entire workflow for the indexing of historical documents – from layout recognition and manual correction of OCR results to training your own models. This event will be held in German.

ChatGPT for FAIR Research Data

In this session, participants will learn how to use both the free and premium versions of ChatGPT to improve the FAIRness (findability, accessibility, interoperability, reusability) of research data. The presentation will provide researchers, data infrastructure specialists and data enthusiasts with practical insights into the use of AI tools for FAIR-compliant research data management, including advanced features of ChatGPT+, such as the specialised virtual advisor 'FAIR GPT'.
