Sandra Schlumpf-Thurnherr

A short profile of the speakers of the Summer School.

Sandra Schlumpf-Thurnherr is Assistant Professor of Ibero-Romance and General Linguistics at the Department of Ibero-Romance Studies at the University of Basel. Her current research areas include sociolinguistics and migration linguistics, Spanish in Africa, language and variety contacts as well as language ideologies and glottopolitics. Equatorial Guinea is the focus of her habilitation project on the sociolinguistic situation of the Equatorial Guinean community in Madrid and her SNSF project “Improving the visibility of Equatorial Guinea as a Spanish-speaking country”.
