Women in Data Science Conference in Germany on 4 March

From February until May, data experts worldwide will be coming together at more than 150 local Women in Data Science conferences. The International Program in Survey and Data Science (IPSDS) at the University of Mannheim is ambassador of the initiative and will be co-hosting a local conference at the SAP campus in Walldorf, Germany, on 4 March 2020.

Following the success of the last few years, IPSDS and SAP Next-Gen will once again bring together leading data science experts from industry, business and science on the occasion of the unique tech conference “Women in Data Science”. The aim of the initiative is to support women in an otherwise male-dominated field and to inspire, bring together, and train data experts worldwide, regardless of their gender.

Organized for the first time at Stanford University in late 2015, the former local conference has since developed into a global initiative. The third edition features conferences in Stanford and more than 150 other locations around the world.

This year, the following speakers will give a speech at the Woman and Data Science Conference Mannheim/Walldorf:

  • Iris Heckmann

  • Simona Marincei
    Head of Intelligent Processes – SME Product Management, SAP
  • Tatjana Schröder
    AI Manager, trans-o-flex, and master’s student of the International Program in Survey and Data Science, University of Mannheim

The conference is free of charge and will take place on 4 March 2020, 3.00 – 7.30 p.m. at the SAP Experience Room Walldorf, Germany.

About the International Program in Survey and Data Science (IPSDS)
IPSDS is a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in order to establish an online study program in survey methodology and data science for working professionals. Excellent teachers from top universities and institutions from around the world, a modular and multidisciplinary curriculum, and a web-based learning environment with small class sizes are features distinguishing this program and making it particularly attractive. Core project partners are the University of Mannheim (Germany) and the University of Maryland (USA).
